| The menu system in OptiLink has been kept as simple
as possible for both ease and speed of use. The menu bar on the main window
contains just the two menus "File" and "Help".

The File menu is organized in four parts. First, are the commands for creating, opening, and saving analysis data files. Second, are the report printing and exporting functions. Third, is the application setup function where the authorization key and the internet proxy parameters are set. And lastly, the application exit command.

to commands to access three forms of help information: the Online Tour, the FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions), and this Reference.

There is a third menu in OptiLink that is not on the main menu bar. It is a popup menu that is available on the data tables contained in the Domains, Pages, Links, and Missing Links panels. This popup menu provides three functions in a consistent way across all of these tables. To access this menu, select a row in one of these tables and press the right button to bring up the menu.
The Whois function extracts the domain name from the currently selected row and displays the results of a domain name whois query in a Whois Dialog. This information could be used to contact the web site owner or to see that two seemingly unrelated web sites have common ownership.

The Open function launches your default browser with the selected page as input. This is especially useful for looking at pages in that appear off your intended topic or that link to your site using unusual text.

The third command is the Copy Table function. This command copies the entire table to the system clipboard where it can be accessed using spreadsheet and word processing programs. Custom reports and further analysis or storage in personal databases are but a few of the applications for this function. The copy command is also available on the Compare panel where it can be used to copy the table of words and percentages to the clipboard (the bar graph images are not copied).
